i was honored to attend rafiqin's cousin's wedding last saturdae at elias cc.
it was a beautiful wedding.decorations done up by my wedding regalia..simply breath-taking..who says malays dont have taste rite?aniwaes i have pictures to boot but im in camp rite now so the pictures have to wait lar eh!!
we've heard all those horror stories about wedding contractors who dont fulfill their promises etc rite?why i want to talk about this is because i am reallie reallie dissapointed with a certain person who i did gubahans for not long ago..
the story goes by this person who contacted me to 'beautify' 8 dulangs of items.2 weeks and 4 days before the actual event..and i was,why not rite?to build up my portfolio and wad-so-ever.arrangements were made by text and occasional phone calls coz im in camp..
that very bookout i went to meet the person to show some pictures that i have of previous events.the person didnt lyke the alas dulangs that i have by saying that the person wants a specific color tone..
so the next day i went to arab st,hoping to find the color..freak!the shop that i normally go to was closed so i made a trip down to geylang..i finallie found it and immediately bought it..
new alas dulangs bought!
the person later msg-ed me requesting for dulangs with legs.since i didnt have them,i tried to borrow around..which i couldnt so i asked my mum to go buy them..this was done in 2 trips coz the first tyme my parents went,the shop ran out of stock!

alot of last minute changes of number of dulangs and items.the collection of the gubahans was on my bookout day.so it was a made rush between goin to geylang to buy bunga rampais and 2 florists coz the first one ran out of flowers i wanted..
an hour before the collection,i msg-ed the total amount of everything.the person replied asking how much was per dulang.since i keep track of all this.i gave detailed price listings of everything..once the collection and everything was over,an hour later,the person called with pretence that my werk was nice and all but a certain dulang was bare..
it was meant to be that way!!to show off the item...
i knoe the amount of stress in preparing an event so i refused to argue and gave sum solutions.i didnt hear from the person for one week until i msg-ed asking for my dulangs back..
the person replied with telling me that i forgot to take off the price tag of a certain dulang.it might be my mistake but i swear to god i didnt see any price tag on it..so nvm,i asked when my dulangs and baskets would be returned?the person said it'll be arranged...
so i waited!
when i asked again lyke a few days back,the person asked me to collect the dulangs instead!
wtf?
i was later interupted by a phone call with information overload of why the person must return everything including the baskets coz the person claims to pay alot for my services.and more infor overload about 'other gubahan people' who dont ask for things back..from what i know everything is charged into the package,thats y you get to keep everything rite?
the person went on again with things lyke my werk was half-done and the person had to buy more things to add on to my werk..that the 'professionals' are more experienced and etc etc..all this said to a person who is passionate with the industry and have done extensive market research coz i reallie wanna make it a career....
imagine how i must have felt??
there i gave my 100% effort in helping the person,who obviouslie was desperate for sumwan to do the gubahans,and i gave up 2 weekends into the project.thats reallie precious for a mat ns lyke me okay?classic case of should i say ungratefulness???
if from the begining the person felt that i am still an amateur and i onlie do this free lance,why engage me?and get me into this huge headache...this has reallie taught me a lesson..im not a petty person but this incident reallie reallie affected me...
